Questions to Ask Your JEM Moving Coordinator Before the Move

Confirm the attendance plan, authority, packing review, protection questions and communication process for JEM optional $750 moving coordinator service.

A coordinator can organize a move more effectively when the customer defines what matters and how decisions should be made. Use the booking conversation to establish practical details, then keep a written record that can be used on moving day.

Which days, locations and stages are covered?

JEM's dedicated coordinator service costs $750 per move and provides on-site representation from beginning to end of the agreed move. Ask the office to identify that beginning and end for your actual itinerary. Include pickup, delivery, any storage stop and separate packing or delivery dates in the discussion.

For multi-day or staged moves, confirm attendance and any adjustment in writing. Do not assume that one selection automatically defines unlimited attendance across an open-ended project.

Who can authorize a change?

Tell the coordinator who may approve extra labor, materials, a revised destination or an added service. If a spouse, assistant or property representative is involved, establish the decision process before instructions conflict.

Ask how a proposed change will be priced and documented before work proceeds. Set a reliable contact method for decisions requiring your approval. A coordinator's presence should make authorization clearer, not turn uncertainty into assumed consent.

What should be ready for the packing check?

Identify customer-packed cartons, fragile contents and any unfinished preparation. Ask what the coordinator can assess and which items need professional packing or another review. Closed cartons can conceal packing conditions, so describe concerns honestly.

Clarify whether recommended repacking, materials or additional packing labor would cost extra. Keep a list of items excluded from the moving load so a readiness walkthrough does not turn into a sorting exercise.

Which written coverage terms apply?

Ask the coordinator to help explain the relevant moving-protection or insurance documents, including exclusions, valuation choices and customer responsibilities. Questions about a separate policy may need an insurer's written answer. The coordinator does not create coverage by checking a carton.

For expensive or unusual items, ask what information must be recorded before the move. Keep the relevant documents accessible rather than sealed among household boxes.

How will we finish the day?

Agree on destination room labels, delivery walkthroughs, payment and paperwork steps, and how concerns will be recorded. Identify the person who can receive the shipment if you cannot be present.

Read the full coordinator service guide, then select the option in your JEM quote. A useful answer to each question should describe an action, a responsible person and the agreed scope.
